88ᵗʰ EFG Spring Council Meeting

"Industrial Minerals and their Contribution to European Development"

May 13-17, 2026
Milos island, Greece

The Association of Greek Geologists (AGG) is pleased to announce that the 88th EFG Spring Council Meeting will be held from 13 to 17 May on the island of Milos, Greece.

The meeting will take place at the “Georgios Iliopoulos” Conference Center, located in Adamas, providing an appropriate setting for the Federation’s statutory and strategic discussions. The Spring Council Meeting is a key institutional gathering of the EFG, bringing together delegates from its member associations to address organizational matters, review ongoing activities, and define the Federation’s future priorities.

In addition to its formal agenda, the meeting will offer an opportunity for constructive dialogue and collaboration among European geoscientists, fostering the exchange of knowledge and best practices across the profession. Within this framework, delegates and fellow association members are invited to engage in a dedicated conference and series of field trips centered on the exploration and management of industrial minerals and mineral resources.

Milos Island

The choice of Milos as the host location is not coincidental. The island is internationally recognized for the richness and diversity of its industrial minerals, which have played a significant role in the development of both the Greek and European industrial sectors.
